SPIC MACAY

Staying rooted with the traditions, customs and forms of art is the best way to cherish and protect a country’s cultural heritage and identity, for future generations. SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) is dedicated to preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural heritage.

Vice Principal, Fr. John Mathew took the initiative to re-introduce the school to SPIC MACAY by organizing ‘Echoes of Elegance’, a violin concert, which brought world renowned violinist and custodian of Indian Classical Music, Ustad Johar Ali Khan and veteran table player Shri Milind Naik amidst students of grades VIII to XI, who got a taste of classical music through an interactive session with the maestros.

The event also marked the inaugural of SPIC MACAY Heritage Club of St. Mary’s ICSE School by Ustad Johar Ali Khan, volunteers of which enthusiastically made arrangements through posters, banners and floral rangoli and looking forward to many of such events in times ahead.

The morning of January 20th, 2025 will forever be etched as a beautiful memory in the minds and hearts of the St. Marian family as everyone was in awe of the artistry, dedication, and contributions of the two great souls in the world of Indian classical music.
