Cultural Exchange Program
Navi Mumbai, April 24, 2025: St. Mary’s ICSE School, Koparkhairane had the distinct honor of hosting a group of students and a teacher from St. Ignatius College, Zambia, as part of a vibrant cultural exchange program organised by St. Mary’s ICSE School and Green Contributor. The day was marked by enriching interactions, captivating cultural showcases, and collaborative activities that celebrated the spirit of unity in diversity. Our Grade XII students, under the aegis of the Leo Club of SMIS, took the lead in coordinating and managing the event. Their efforts ensured a warm welcome and seamless execution of the day’s agenda. From cultural performances to interactive sessions, the program provided a meaningful platform for students to share perspectives, celebrate traditions, and build lasting cross-cultural bonds. SPIC MACAY
Staying rooted with the traditions, customs and forms of art is the best way to cherish and protect a country’s cultural heritage and identity, for future generations. SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) is dedicated to preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural heritage. Vice Principal, Fr. John Mathew took the initiative to re-introduce the school to SPIC MACAY by organizing ‘Echoes of Elegance’, a violin concert, which brought world renowned violinist and custodian of Indian Classical Music, Ustad Johar Ali Khan and veteran table player Shri Milind Naik amidst students of grades VIII to XI, who got a taste of classical music through an interactive session with the maestros. The event also marked the inaugural of SPIC MACAY Heritage Club of St. Mary’s ICSE School by Ustad Johar Ali Khan, volunteers of which enthusiastically made arrangements through posters, banners and floral rangoli and looking forward to many of such events in times ahead. The morning of January 20th, 2025 will forever be etched as a beautiful memory in the minds and hearts of the St. Marian family as everyone was in awe of the artistry, dedication, and contributions of the two great souls in the world of Indian classical music.
Leo Club Charter Installation Ceremony
On 18th January 2025, St. Mary’s ICSE School, Koparkhairane proudly hosted the Charter Installation Ceremony of the Leo Club of SMIS, marking a significant milestone in the journey of serving the community. The ceremony featured inspiring speeches by the Principal, Ms. Blessy Mathews, Vice Principal Rev. Fr. John Mathew, Chief Guests and Lions District Governor, emphasizing the importance of community service and leadership. The Charter Installation Ceremony marked the beginning of an exciting journey with the presentation of the ‘Gong and Gavel’ to the Leo Club President-Leo Joel Jacob Thomas. With their enthusiasm and commitment, the Club is poised to make a positive impact in the community. Overall, it was a moment of reflection, celebration, and anticipation for the work and service that the Leo Club will undertake in the coming year.
Movie Trip For “Dharmarakshak Mahaveer Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.”
Students of Grades VI to IX had an unforgettable experience on 30th January, 2025, as they went to Balaji Movieplex, Koparkhairane, to watch the inspiring film “Dharmarakshak Mahaveer Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.” The movie beautifully portrayed the bravery and leadership of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, leaving the students inspired by his legacy. Adding to the excitement, the protagonist of the movie “Thakur Anoop Singh” himself graced the screening with his presence. He visited all the screens, interacted with the students, and shared his thoughts about the film. The students were thrilled to meet him and listen to his insights, making the experience even more special. It was truly a day filled with learning, inspiration, and unforgettable moments!
Trip to BK Resort
Students of Grades 6 to 12 had gone to BK Resorts, Thane, on the 6th of December 2024 for a fun-filled picnic. The water park offered an exciting break from their routine as they enjoyed thrilling water rides, splashed around in the pools, and spent quality time with their friends. The day was filled with laughter, joy, and adventure, leaving the students with fond memories to cherish. As they returned, their faces reflected the excitement of a day well spent, making this picnic a truly unforgettable experience!

Silver Jubilee of the school
The first of the string of celebrations marking the Silver Jubilee of the school was ‘Reminiscences’, the Alumni Meet of the Marianers. It was graced by the members of School Managing Committee, the Chairman Mr. Jacob Varghese, CEO Fr. Abraham Joseph, Deputy CEO Mr. Abraham Esao and member Ms. Gracy Mathew. Popular dancer and choreographer Mr. Mayuresh Wadkar was the star attraction of the evening. It was our honour to have the presence of Ex. Principals, Ms. Asha Narayanan, Ms. Vandana Saxena & Ms. Harjeet Kaur Grover as special guests for the evening. Students were thrilled and flocked around the principals reminiscing on their time spent in school. Also present were retired teachers and staff member who had made invaluable contributions to the school. A whopping crowd of 350 alumni gathered in the school quadrangle and got nostalgic as they fondly remembered their school days. Some spoke their hearts out during the short segments ‘Testimonials’! Students visited their classrooms and recalled beautiful memories of learning and fun.Our hearts swell with pride at their achievements!!! The Marianers were treated to some heart-warming performances by students and teachers throughout the evening.Students danced to their heart’s content, dined gleefully and left with promises of catching up with teachers and each other soon.
